ABOUT THE AUTHOR: Gouri Dange is a family counsellor, bestselling author of fiction and non-fiction, and newspaper columnist. Growing up in Singapore, Mumbai, and Pune, she has always been a people-watcher. In her writing, as well as her counselling practice, she is deeply empathic with "people who get their sums wrong" and the human struggle to fix the arithmetic of our lives.
Gouri's writing ranges from the gently humorous, to the reflective. She enjoys a large readership, with readers, bloggers, and editors writing in regularly, expressing their appreciation and delight at her style and content.
Both her books on parenting have gone into several editions. She has written three novels that are a nuanced study of the human situation in all its triumphs and failures. Her long-running column Learning Curve with Mint-Lounge has a huge fan following. She has a widely read social-satire weekly column with The Mirror (TOI) and contributes features and essays to The Hindu.
Gouri also conducts writing workshops, where she guides participants to synthesise and transform what they experience, perceive, and imagine into words. Her workshops include a self-awareness module, where she teaches how to use writing as a tool for self-discovery.
