DetailsThis volume is enriched with the poems of six romantic English poets William Blake, William Wordsworth, Samuel Taylor Coleridge, Lord Byron, Percy Bysshe Shelley, and John Keats.The poets belong to late 18th century and the early 19th century. The book contains 123 poem in total of which 10 poems by Samuel Taylor Coleridge, 16 by Lord Byron, 22 by John Keats, 24 by Percy Bysshe Shelley, 24 are by William Blake, 27 by William Wordsworth.Generally, the poems collected here are classified under the Romantic genre. Also the meaning of any Latin or Greek word is given. At the end there is a listing of titles. A vast range of style, moods and subjects can be found in these poems.The basic importance is given to the imaginations and personal experiences and also to ideas like nature, paranormal and death phenomenon. Two of the poems are also selected from the book by Common Core State Standards Initiative which is a U.S. education initiative.Samuel collection includes seven parts of The Rime of the Ancient Mariner, The Pains of Sleep, This Lime-tree Bower My Prison, On a Ruined House in a Romantic Country. Two parts of Christabel, Dejection: An Ode, The Dungeon, France: An Ode, Frost At Midnight, Kubla Khan.The collection of Lord Byron contains several short love lyrics from Don Juan, Childe Harold. The selections by William Blake consist of short poems from Songs of Innocence and Songs of Experience and longer poem such as ‘Proverbs of Hell’ from The marriage of Heaven and Hell and other prose.A collection of sonnets and the famous “ Lines composed a few miles above Tintern Abbey” and selection from “The Prelude” along with other romantic poems constitute Wordsworth collection.Keats collection is formed by sonnets as ‘On first looking into Chapman’s Homer and Bright star’ and his four great odes.The collection of the most popular poems has also influenced Present culture.
