She is best known for her novel Frankenstein which was published in 1818, when she was only 20 years old.Shelley's interest in scientific fiction was influenced by her father, who was fascinated with developments in scientific thinking during the nineteenth century. This interest was followed by Shelley who would regularly attend scientific lectures in London.Shelley's later novels never gripped the public's attention as Frankenstein had; the novel continues to intrigue modern readers, and has been the subject of several books and films.Mary Wollstonecraft Shelley died of a suspected brain tumour on 1st February 1851..ADAPTED BY: Lloyd S. Wagner is a father of three, writer and entrepreneur. A Graduate of King's College in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania, he has been writing business news and profiles, feature stories and screenplays since attaining his BA in English in 1983. Inspired by his sons he has written El Chupacabras: Trail of the Goatsucker, his first book for the juvenile/young adult market, followed by Greenman in the Oliver Family Adventure Series.
