OSHO continues to inspire millions of people worldwide in their search to define a new approach to individual spirituality that is self-directed and responds to the everyday challenges of contemporary life.

His unique perspective encompasses both the timeless wisdom of the East and the highest potential of Western science and technology, and he was named by The Sunday Times of London as one of the 1000 Makers of the 20th Century.

The American novelist Tom Robbins has called him the most dangerous man since Jesus Christ.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR : Osho was a spiritual master who inspired millions all over the world. Some books by Osho are Tao: The Three Treasures, The Mustard Seed, The Heart Sutra, Ancient Music in the Pines, Vedanta: Seven Steps to Samadhi, and God is not for Sale. His books are based on various systems of philosophy.

Osho or Bhagwan Rajneesh as he was known previously, was born Chandra Mohan Jain in 1931 in Madhya Pradesh. He earned an M.A. in philosophy and started teaching that subject at Jabalpur University. He also travelled throughout the country speaking against socialism and advocating a capitalist economy for the country s growth. He was also against institutionalized religion and started an Ashram in Poona, which became controversial for its permissive nature.

He later shifted to the US and started an Ashram there. But that became mired in controversy too and he was eventually forced to leave the US. He spent his final years in Pune, taking on the name Osho Rajneesh and continued his discourses and his spiritual teachings. Since his death in 1990, there has been an increase in the popularity of all his published works.
