Reeling and desolate, Adrienne Willis needs space to rethink her life after her husband leaves her for a younger woman. ABOUT THE AUTHOR : Nicholas Sparks, born in 1965 in Nebraska, is a prolific screenwriter, novelist and producer.
Among his other works are Dear John, The Notebook, A Walk to Remember and Message in a Bottle.
Sparks was born the middle child among three children to Patrick and Emma Sparks, a professor and homemaker respectively. He penned his first novel, The Passing, while he was still in school, in 1985. Sparks received a full track and field scholarship to the University of Notre Dame, graduating with honors in Business Finance. Among his 18 published books, 8 of them have been adapted into movies. Nicholas Sparks met his future wife, Cathy Cote, in New Hampshire when they were both on spring break. They live in North Carolina with their three sons and twin daughters, where he spends time coaching track teams and writing.
