“Literature is my life of course, but from an ontological point of view. From an
existential point of view, I like being a teacher.”
- Antonio Tabucchi
Life goes on where I look back myself as a poet, writer and dramatist. Literature plays
a major role in my life as emotions, actions and incidents. I look back where the life is
divided into era’s in literature made me to smile with blush and mysterious.
Mysterious Villains of life in my adolescence made the people to think who am I?
What I do to my family? What do I sacrifice to this society? I feel absurdity when I step into
the literature at beginning. Later, I found that literature is not something to put your mind
into, literature is something only a heart can understand. One simply does not study
literature; he changes in one way or another. Literature broadens the horizon.
To me, Literature is like a ray of hope in black room and friend where it gives me a
companion in one true reflection. It is an escape from the negativity of life. Literature gives
me a new perspective and has drastically changed me as a humane personality.
Now, Literature has taken an a more comprehensive role of mirroring society in
order for humans to study themselves and understand the underlying truths common to
all people.
Though English emerged as a discipline towards the end of the nineteenth century, it
has been the center of academic debates in the country of its origin. The rise of English
studies is a process motivated by social rather than intellectual ends, with the discipline
being promoted as uniquely suited to a mission of national cultivation.

being promoted as uniquely suited to a mission of national cultivation. Then onwards,
English has polarized its position on its function in education; from single standard
language to recognition of varieties, from emphasis on writing to attention to speech, from
dictionary definitions and grammatical rules to flexibility of usage, from canon of great
works to open for no canon, from national curriculum to local syllabus, from single
dominant cultural identity to multicultural differences and from national views of the
subject to conceptions which are at once more regional/local and more
international/global.
